Industrial Design at YABATECH
Industrial Design may look less restrictive than a science course, but the required Arts, language, literature, government or creative subjects still matter. Check the named subjects carefully before changing course or paying for screening at YABATECH.
What you need before you apply
This page is a course-specific requirement guide, not an admission guarantee. It separates the stable academic requirement from changing items such as screening dates, current cut-off scores and whether an application portal is open.
O’Level requirement
YABATECH requires the SSCE/JAMB entry requirement for the corresponding National Diploma course. Check the current ND subject combination for this discipline before relying on your HND qualification alone.
Read that requirement literally. A candidate can have five or more credits and still be ineligible if one compulsory subject is missing or if the result combination falls outside the subjects accepted for this course.
UTME subjects
The official source used for this record does not publish a complete UTME subject combination on the same page. LAG Institutes will not guess it. Check the current JAMB brochure and the institution’s admission portal before selecting this course.
Direct Entry, HND or higher-entry route
Relevant National Diploma at not below Lower Credit, together with the College's published post-ND industrial-experience condition.
For YABATECH HND admission, the College's published general rule requires the SSCE/JAMB entry conditions for the corresponding ND programme, a relevant National Diploma at not below Lower Credit and at least one year of relevant post-ND industrial experience. Applicants should also ensure that the required transcript reaches the College within the current admission instructions.
Higher-entry qualifications are course-specific. An ND, HND, NCE, JUPEB or A-Level result that is accepted for one programme should not be assumed to qualify you for another programme with a similar name.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Literature-in-English may be compulsory for some language, theatre or communication courses but not all.
- Check whether Government/History, CRS/IRS, a Nigerian language or Fine Art is specifically named.
- Creative programmes may add portfolio, audition or placement conditions.
Before paying for an application
- Match every compulsory O’Level subject against the result you will upload.
- Confirm the UTME or Direct Entry route for the current session.
- Check whether the institution must be your first choice before screening.
- Confirm that the programme is currently accepting applications; a permanent course page does not mean the form is open today.
- Use only the institution’s official payment and application portal.
Source note: YABATECH's published HND Full-Time admission notice lists this programme and the general HND entry framework. The exact corresponding ND subject requirement should also be checked.
Official verification
LAG Institutes uses the official institution source for the academic requirement and keeps short-term admission notices separate. If the institution publishes a newer requirement, the newer official instruction takes priority.
