LASU Entrepreneurship: Current Route Check, Requirements & Screening
Entrepreneurship at Lagos State University (LASU) needs a current-route check before an applicant treats it as a standalone bachelor’s degree. LAG Institutes has an Entrepreneurship course record created from LASU’s official course-requirements checker, but LASU’s current public Foundation progression list does not show a standalone Entrepreneurship degree. Instead, LASU currently promotes entrepreneurship through certificate and special-programme structures, including its Regular Degree Programme with Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Training and a separate Entrepreneurial Studies Certificate Programme.
What the stored LASU requirement says
The existing course record lists English Language and Mathematics, together with accepted commercial or social-science subjects such as Geography, Accounting, Commerce, Government and Economics. That gives useful evidence about the subject background LASU associated with the route when the record was synced, but applicants should not treat the stored record alone as proof that a standalone Entrepreneurship bachelor’s degree is currently open.
Programme availability and subject eligibility are separate questions. Before checking subjects, confirm the exact programme title that LASU and JAMB currently offer. If Entrepreneurship is presented only as a certificate, option or special programme attached to another degree, the admission route will be different from a conventional standalone B.Sc. application.
LASU currently offers entrepreneurship through special programmes
LASU’s current screening portal links applicants to a set of entrepreneurship certificate courses offered alongside degree study in its special programme. The university also maintains an Entrepreneurial Studies Certificate Programme application portal. These routes show that entrepreneurship training is active at LASU, but they should not be confused with evidence of a standalone undergraduate degree titled Entrepreneurship.
LASU staff profiles also show academic expertise in entrepreneurship within the Faculty of Management Sciences. That further confirms the subject is taught and researched at the university. Even so, academic expertise and certificate provision are not the same thing as a currently open bachelor’s-degree route.
Verify the UTME combination only after confirming the route
The UTME field stored in the earlier site sync was incomplete. This page therefore does not publish a guessed combination. If LASU/JAMB currently offers Entrepreneurship as a standalone undergraduate programme, use LASU’s live course-requirements checker for the exact UTME subjects.
If the route is instead an entrepreneurship option or certificate attached to another degree, use the admission requirements for the underlying degree programme, not a reconstructed Entrepreneurship combination from an old record.
Current LASU 2026/2027 screening rules
LASU’s official 2026/2027 Admission Screening Portal currently states that UTME candidates for full-time undergraduate programmes need at least 195, must choose LASU as their first-choice institution, must upload their O’Level result to JAMB CAPS, and must use a valid JAMB registration number.
Those are university-level screening conditions. They do not establish that a standalone Entrepreneurship degree is available, and they should not be presented as a departmental cut-off for Entrepreneurship.
What entrepreneurship study focuses on
Entrepreneurship education typically focuses on identifying opportunities, evaluating business ideas, planning ventures, understanding markets, managing resources, financing small businesses and developing products or services. LASU’s wider entrepreneurship initiatives are designed around practical enterprise skills, which helps explain why the university integrates entrepreneurship training into degree and certificate structures.
For a student whose main goal is to build businesses or develop enterprise skills, the key question is which LASU route provides the qualification level they want. A degree with entrepreneurship training, a certificate programme and a standalone degree are different educational products and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Applicant checklist
- Confirm whether Entrepreneurship appears as a standalone undergraduate degree on the current LASU/JAMB interface.
- Do not confuse LASU’s entrepreneurship certificate courses with a bachelor’s degree.
- If a standalone degree is available, verify the full O’Level and UTME requirements from LASU.
- If entrepreneurship is attached to another degree, follow the admission requirements for that underlying degree.
- For 2026/2027 undergraduate screening, confirm LASU is first choice and your O’Level result is on JAMB CAPS.
- Do not treat an old course-checker entry as proof of present admission availability.
Official verification
LASU’s current screening portal publicly links to entrepreneurship certificate courses, while the university also maintains a separate Entrepreneurial Studies Certificate Programme. Because the current Foundation course list does not independently show a standalone Entrepreneurship degree, this page now treats the degree route as something applicants must verify live.

Bottom line: entrepreneurship is clearly active at LASU, but current public evidence points strongly to certificate and special-programme structures rather than an independently confirmed standalone undergraduate degree. Verify the exact route before making a JAMB or payment decision.
How to use this requirement in the current admission cycle
LASU's course checker gives the programme-specific O'Level and UTME subject pattern, while the current screening portal controls the live admission exercise. For 2026/2027 the screening portal requires LASU as first choice, a minimum UTME score of 195 for UTME candidates, the O'Level result on JAMB CAPS and the appropriate UTME/Direct Entry category. Treat the course requirement and the screening rule as two separate checks: you need both.
Before a change of course, compare your actual result line by line with the compulsory subjects. Do not assume a higher UTME score repairs a missing O'Level subject, and do not assume an ND, HND, NCE or JUPEB qualification accepted by one department is accepted by another. Where the Direct Entry paragraph is broad, use the current JAMB brochure and the institution's screening portal before submitting credentials.
