LASUSTECH General Admission Requirements: UTME and Direct Entry

LASUSTECH’s undergraduate admission process combines a general screening threshold with course-specific entry requirements. A candidate can satisfy the general 2026/2027 screening conditions and still be ineligible for a particular programme if the O’Level or UTME subject combination is wrong.

The University’s official 2026/2027 screening notice and admission portal provide a clear baseline for 100 Level applicants: LASUSTECH must be the first-choice institution, the candidate must meet the published UTME threshold and the relevant O’Level credits must be in place. Direct Entry candidates use a separate JAMB route but are also required to choose LASUSTECH as first choice.

UTME / 100 Level requirements

For 2026/2027, LASUSTECH set a minimum UTME score of 195 for candidates seeking 100 Level admission through the screening exercise. The University also requires LASUSTECH to be the candidate’s first-choice institution in JAMB.

That 195 score is the general screening threshold for the session. It does not replace the admission requirements of the course itself and should not be described as a guaranteed admission cut-off for every programme.

Five O’Level credits and course subjects

The LASUSTECH admission portal states five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. The remaining subjects must fit the programme requirement. Science, engineering, agriculture, environmental and social-science programmes do not all use the same subject combination.

The University publishes programme-level requirement records. Use the exact record for your intended course before applying. If your subject combination does not fit, changing the course may be safer than paying for a route that cannot progress.

JAMB CAPS and result upload

LASUSTECH’s admission portal instructs applicants to ensure that their O’Level result is uploaded to JAMB CAPS. This is not a cosmetic step: JAMB/CAPS processing is part of the admission chain, so a result that exists only on the University form should not be assumed to be enough.

Direct Entry

Direct Entry candidates must obtain the JAMB Direct Entry form and select LASUSTECH as first choice. The qualification accepted for Direct Entry depends on the programme, so the applicant should confirm the relevant OND, HND, NCE, A-Level or other approved route rather than relying on a general assumption.

The Direct Entry screening is still part of the University’s admission process. Having a higher qualification does not automatically bypass screening or course-specific requirements.

Lagos State origin verification

The 2026/2027 LASUSTECH screening notice states that candidates of Lagos State origin who are claiming that status must have successfully completed the University’s State of Origin Verification process before they can participate under that claim. This is a separate verification requirement and should not be confused with the general eligibility conditions that apply to all candidates.

Course selection matters as much as the general threshold

LASUSTECH groups its undergraduate programmes across colleges such as Engineering and Technology, Agriculture, Basic Sciences, Environmental Design and Technology, and Applied Social Sciences. Those programmes do not use one identical subject combination. The admission portal itself warns that course-specific subject combinations may apply.

Before submitting the screening form, compare the exact programme requirement with the subjects on your O’Level result and the subjects you took in UTME. If either set does not match, do not assume the 195 score will make the application valid. A correct programme choice reduces the risk of paying for screening only to discover that the academic subjects do not qualify.

• Confirm first-choice status in JAMB.
• Check that your 2026/2027 UTME score meets the current screening threshold.
• Verify five relevant O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, and check the course-specific subjects.
• Upload the correct O’Level result to JAMB CAPS.
• Direct Entry applicants should confirm the qualification accepted for the exact programme.

What meeting the minimum does — and does not — mean

Meeting the general requirements means you may be eligible to continue with the institution’s admission process. It does not guarantee admission. Departmental subject combinations, programme capacity, screening performance, aggregate scores, document verification and JAMB/CAPS processing can still affect the final outcome.

If your intended course has a separate O’Level, UTME or Direct Entry requirement, that course-specific rule takes priority over a general summary. Before you pay or submit an application

• Confirm that the application or screening window is currently open on the institution’s official portal.
• Check the exact course requirements rather than relying on a general cut-off score alone.
• Make sure your name, O’Level details and JAMB information are consistent before submission.
• Use official payment channels. Do not send passwords, JAMB profile codes, PINs or card details to LAG Institutes or an unofficial agent.
• Keep copies of payment receipts, acknowledgement slips and any screening or verification documents you generate.
